BRB Internacional
BRB Internacional is a Spanish animation studio which is best known for producing 1980s cartoon hits such as Around the World with Willy Fog, Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds and The World of David the Gnome.
It was created by Tito Basto, Claudio Biern Boyd and José Rodriguez in 1972 as a merchandising company.
History
BRB Internacional was founded in 1972 as a merchandising agency, representing rights to some of the most popular characters from top producers such as Hanna Barbera and Warner Bros, and to outstanding television series such as The Pink Panther, Tom and Jerry, The Muppets and Charlie’s Angels. In 1975, after its success with these first series, BRB began distributing cartoon series nationally and internationally, including series such as The Wood of Tallac¸ Banner and Flappy and Tom Sawyer.
Having seen the steady growth in this sector, BRB decided to start producing its own cartoon series, and in 1980 BRB’s first series – Ruy, the Little Cid – was premiered on Spanish Television. In 1985, it was created their first hit, The World of David the Gnome'.
Between their most known series co-produced by Nippon Animation (Japon) we can find Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds', Around the World with Willy Fog or Football Stories (protagonized by Naranjito, the official pet of the Mundial Cup 1982. From that moment BRB has not stopped producing cartoon series, and has always been able to adapt to changes and developments in the sector. Innovation and new contents that we can see in worldwide exists like Iron Kid, Suckers or Canimals.
Likewise, BRB has always remained at the avan-garde of the licensing sector. And its catalogue has always counted with the most successful licenses: Pokémon, Pepsi, The Pink Panther…
Right now, BRB is producing series with the last developments in design, stereoscopic 3D and computer animation. Today, BRB also has a live-action series department and a videogames division. This last years, it has been working in a cinema movie: Superbernard.
